Use A Blog To Improve Your SEO

Blogs for Healthcare Workers Help SEO

There are many SEO strategies out there. When it comes to healthcare providers - one of the best ways to boost your SEO is to manage a blog.

How Does A Blog Help Your SEO and Your Clinical Practice?

With every website we build at WEB/Health, we provide back end support for SEO, but can also provide you with advice on how to make the most of your time in your efforts to boost your SEO.

  1. BUILD CREDIBILITY

A blog provides you a great way to create meaningful, informative content that helps build your credibility within your field of practice. When human eyes read your content, they will hopefully regard you as an expert in the field you write about. When google sees your article, it too will hopefully regard you as a legitimate source of information such that when someone searches for those keywords, your articles will show up on the search engines.

2.  RANK FOR YOUR TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC

If you're a naturopath whose clinic focus is autoimmune disease, the more articles you write about those 'autoimmune disease', the better. Firstly you will build credibility with all those article, but you'll also be able to rank higher in google for those specific search terms. If someone is looking for a naturopath to deal with their autoimmune disease, your website is likely to show up higher compared to another naturopath without all that content on autoimmune disease.

3.  USE YOUR SITE FOR YOUR EXISTING PATIENTS

One of the driving forces to SEO is website traffic. If you have existing patients, you can direct them to resources on your website. Say you have a handout, if you could upload it to your website and direct them there, it will actually help drive SEO. It will also provide them with a useful resource. It's a win-win!

4.  A BLOG PROVIDES MORE SOURCES FOR INTERNAL AND BACK LINKS

Remember, links (internal and backlinks) help SEO (click here for more info). The more blog posts your create that somewhat relate to one-another, the more links you can create between your own web-pages. Internal links shows the search engines that your content is relevant, useful and related.

Back links are links from other sites to your website. Say someone else is writing a blog and they use yours as a reference, or someone shares your post on facebook, these also show search engines that your website has use and may pose as a legitimate source for that topic, thereby increasing your SEO for your health related website.

5.  USE A BLOG AS A PLACE FOR IMAGES AND VIDEOS

If you create content like images, graphics and videos, these are great ways to share that content. Writing a blog post to accompany a video you made for Instagram provides another use for that effort. Rather than sharing that video on Instagram once, you can keep it on your blog with the intention of others finding it.

Media itself helps with SEO, be sure to include all the meta-data! For more information on how to include metadata to your media files click here.
